The agent finds the page's tools and calls them: the search, then the profile. 3. **Your browser calls the free API**: Each call leaves your own browser for the free API at https://api.traderegister.fi, without a key or cookies, within your address's 60 requests a minute. ## Two tools, the trade register's answers. - 2 WebMCP tools - 0 API keys needed - 60 requests per minute free - 62 countries - **Search companies** (`search_companies`): Companies by the start of a name or a business ID, narrowed by address country or jurisdiction if you like, each with its permanent ID. - **Get company profile** (`get_company`): One company's registry facts by permanent ID: status, legal form, identifiers, activity codes and when the register was last observed. ## Where it works - **ChatGPT desktop app**: ChatGPT Work and Codex use the tools in the app's built-in browser. - **Chrome 149+ and Edge 150+**: Available once this site joins their WebMCP origin trials. To test before then, turn on `chrome://flags/#enable-webmcp-testing` in Chrome. - **Browsers without WebMCP**: Pages work as usual, without tools. ## Why use the tools here? ### One contract - The same tools as the MCP server: same names, inputs and answers, written into the page from the server's definitions. - Answers are the free API's JSON, as its OpenAPI document describes them. ### Your browser - No key, no account, nothing to install. Registering the tools stores nothing and sets no cookie. - Calls run from your own browser, within your address's 60 requests a minute. ### Official sources - The trade register's facts, live from the Coragrid public API. - Nothing added, corrected or inferred: a field the register does not publish is left out. ## Frequently asked questions ### What is WebMCP? A W3C Web Machine Learning Community Group draft: a web page offers tools, each with a name, description and input schema, to the AI agent in the browser, which calls them instead of clicking through the page. ### How is it different from the MCP server at mcp.traderegister.fi? The MCP server at https://mcp.traderegister.fi/mcp is an endpoint you add to an AI app once, with its own allowances. WebMCP needs no setup: the tools come with the page, and each call runs from your own browser under your address's allowance. Same tools, same inputs. ### Do I need an API key or an account? No. A Coragrid API key is for more: search by description, batch reads and limits set per key. ### What does my browser send, and to whom? Only the call itself: the search text and filters, or the company ID, from your browser to https://api.traderegister.fi, without cookies or a key. Registering the tools sends nothing, and no analytics event is sent. ### Which hosts support it today? The ChatGPT desktop app (ChatGPT Work and Codex in its built-in browser).
